GAINING WISDOM FROM THE WISE MEN

Matthew 2:1-12 Have you ever embarked on a difficult journey? Perhaps it challenged you physically, financially, mentally, or emotionally. Maybe there were some risks involved and you had no way of knowing in advance just how it would turn out. It may have been a journey to a particular location. Maybe it was a strenuous activity, like six months of training for a marathon, or several years of intense studying to earn an advanced academic degree. It could be a step of obedience to God in which He called you to do something that really pushed you out of your comfort zone. There are lots of journeys we undertake in life, and some of them are very challenging. When I was a university stud

“SHEPHERDS, A SAVIOUR HAS BEEN BORN TO YOU!”

Luke 2: 8 - 20 Introduction There was a lady who was in a hurry. It was in the good old days of Christmas Cards. She bought 50 of them in a packet without looking at the message inside. Hurriedly she signed and addressed all but one out of the packet of cards. Those who have recently lost a loved one may find it difficult to get into the holiday spirit. If that is true for you, my prayer is t

THE MESSAGES OF ADVENT

Psalm 23 I'd like us to consider for a moment the messages we like to hear. We hear thousands of messages every day. Just think of all the ways messages bombard us. Mail. Email. SMS messages. Facebook. Twitter. Instagram. Television. Radio. Family and friends. Bosses at work. Billboards we drive by. Magazines we skim. Books we read. Songs we listen to. Messages are pouring into our minds non-stop. Then consider the messages we hear from these sources: Do this. Don’t do that. Buy This. You’ve gotta have this. Work faster. Try harder. Take a risk. Be careful. Just say No. You can do it. You deserve it. Treat yourself. You’re hired. You’re fired. It’s time for din
